Thank you for expressing interest in the Yonkers Police Captains, Lieutenants and Sergeants Association’s charitable and community programs.

Our Association continues numerous activities aimed at funding community projects and increasing public awareness of the work our organization does in the city to foster a better relationship with the community. A portion of our funding will assist in facilitating many local youth activities and charities including junior golf, soccer, football, the scouts, The Riordan Children’s Fund, and the Yonkers League of the Westchester Association of Retarded Children.

Local arts and historical societies also benefit from our charitable budget. The Untermeyer Performing Arts Council, The Yonkers Conservancy, the Friends of Philipsie Manor Hall and the Yonkers Historical Society are all recipients of funding from the Yonkers Police Captains, Lieutenants and Sergeants Association.

In addition to hosting the Handicapped Children’s Christmas Party and our Handicapped Children’s Picnic every summer, we will continue to be a major contributor to many local scholarship programs. Through the generous support of the public during our annual fund raising drives, the CLSA was able to donate monies to the following worthwhile organizations:

A life time resident of Yonkers, New York, Gary Stymiloski was a graduate of Gorton High School.  After a brief period in the private sector, Gary embarked upon a career in law enforcement.  His first position was as a Police Officer with the Sloatsburg Police Department in New York.  On September 27, 1982, Gary became one of the first Police Officers with the newly formed Westchester County Department of Public Safety Service.  Gary’s talents as an Officer were recognized early.  He was assigned to the narcotics squad of the Detective Unit and worked undercover assignments.  His work was exemplified by winning the title of Police Officer of the Year 1984 by the Westchester County Police Pulaski Association.  When Gary’s assignment to the Detective Division concluded, he was assigned to the Patrol Division. To his family, fiancée, friends and fellow officers, Gary was a dedicated man.  Gary had worked as a youth officer in addition to his regular duties.  He loved white water rafting, camping, reading and was known to travel miles for a good hamburger.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
