The Yonkers Police CLS Association, organized in 1925

has as its objectives the protection of the interests of the Yonkers Police Captains, Lieutenants and Sergeants, as well as enhancing the quality of life in our city by sponsoring many local charitable interests, raising the level of public safety through law enforcement, reducing the fear and incidence of crime and fostering a better relationship with the community.

Obedience to the Constitution, respect for the dignity of those we protect, compassion, fairness, and personal and institutional integrity are values that must be understood, practiced, shared, defended and preserved.

These values are consistent with the firmness and impartiality that characterizes the professional police officer placed under our command.

Respect for the dignity of all whom we protect ensures that we treat everyone with the highest regard for constitution, civil and human rights.

Personal and institutional integrity is owed to the people of the City of Yonkers in exchange for the trust and authority conferred upon us.

We who enforce the law have an obligation to set a moral example, which those whom we command can follow. Effective law enforcement depends on a working partnership and a community of interest between the Department, its officers and the public they serve. The CLSA’s success in accomplishing its objectives is directly related to the support and cooperation of those whom we protect.
